Police: Woman Who Crashed In PG Co. Apartment Building Was Murdered

PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY, Md. (WJZ)—Police in Prince George's County say an October 3 crash is now being investigated as a homicide after a woman barreled into an apartment building and died.

It happened  around 10:45 p.m. in the 1900 block of Rochelle Ave.

32-year-old Marquita Wimms, of Hillcrest Heights, is identified as the driver, she later died at the hospital.

But police say Wimms was also suffering from a gunshot wound when police arrived on the scene.

The medical examiner says the victim was murdered.

A reward of up to $25,000 is being offered in this case.
