Police: Woman Tied Up, Robbed 74-Year-Old Maryland Man

KENSINGTON, Md. (AP) -- Police are investigating a Kensington home invasion robbery in which a 74-year-old man was tied up and robbed.

In a statement issued Tuesday, Montgomery County police say a woman, who identified herself as "Maria," knocked on the victim's door on Nov. 9, asking to use the bathroom. When the victim refused, police say the woman knocked again, this time pushing the man aside when he opened the door and punching him in the face.

Police say she picked up a sharp object, ordered the man into a bedroom and tied his hands behind his back.

Police say the suspect stole the man's bank and credit card, in addition to cash and his personal identification number.

Investigators obtained surveillance photographs of the suspect and two additional suspects using the cards.
