It happened around midnight Tuesday in the 700 block of S. Rose Street.

Police say the suspect entered the home, displayed a weapon and demanded drugs and money. During the altercation, the suspect allegedly pistol-whipped the victim and then later fired one round inside the home.

A dog suffered a graze wound during the gun fire.

The victim was able to flee from the home, police said.
