Police: Two Downtown Guides Involved In Stabbing Of Homeless Man
BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- City police are investigating an early morning stabbing Thursday downtown.
According to police, officers responded to the intersection of Bath and Davis streets around 7:20 a.m. for a report of a stabbing.
There they found a 48-year-old man suffering from multiple stab wounds.
The victim was taken to an area hospital for treatment with non-life threatening injuries.
Investigators believe the victim was involved in an argument with two employees of the Downtown Partnership.
While arguing, one of the employees stabbed the man.
Both employees were taken into custody and police continue to investigate the incident.
The Downtown Partnership issued this statement about the stabbing:
"Earlier this morning a Downtown Baltimore Guide was involved in a stabbing. We understand the victim is a homeless man who is in stable condition at Mercy Hospital. It is unclear how the altercation began but early reports indicate the Guide was not the instigator. The police were called and we are cooperating fully with the investigation."
