Police: Tractor Trailer Rolls Onto Car In Fatal Crash

BOONSBORO, Md. (AP) -- Maryland State Police say a Frederick man was killed when his car crashed and a tractor trailer rolled on top of his car on Interstate 70.

Police said in a news release issued Thursday that 67-year-old Guillermo Rodriguez was traveling westbound near South Mountain on Wednesday night and when his Toyota Avalon went off the left side of the road. The car hit the guardrail, then returned to westbound traffic, where it was hit by a Chrysler sedan.

Police say a tractor trailer that swerved to miss the Toyota went up an embankment and overturned on top of the Toyota.

Police say Rodriguez did not survive. The driver of the tractor trailer was taken to Meritus Medical Center near Hagerstown. The driver of the Chrysler was not injured.
