Police: Student Seriously Injured In Stabbing At School

UPPER MARLBORO, Md. (AP) -- A student has been seriously injured after being stabbed by another student at a Prince George's County high school.

Police say the incident occurred early Tuesday morning inside Frederick Douglass High School in Upper Marlboro. According to police, two male students were engaged in a physical altercation when one of the students pulled out a knife and stabbed the other student.

Police say the student stabbed suffered serious, but non-life threatening injuries while the other student only sustained minor injuries. Both students were taken to a local hospital for treatment.

Police say the student who is accused of pulling the knife is currently in police custody and charges are pending.

The school is not on lock down.
