Police: Salisbury Man Held Woman Hostage For Days

SALISBURY, Md. (AP) -- Authorities say a Salisbury man has been accused of sexually assaulting a woman and holding her hostage in his home for several days.

Police say 59-year-old Harry S. Jones has been arrested on kidnapping and sex charges after a 37-year-old woman told police on Tuesday that she had just escaped Jones' home and had been held there since Saturday.

The victim was taken to a hospital for treatment and was later released.

Investigators say evidence recovered from Jones' home supports the woman's accusations.

The Wicomico Bureau of Investigation says the victim had been restrained and was physically and sexually assaulted by her attacker before escaping.

Jones faces multiple charges related to the incident. It was not immediately clear if he has hired an attorney.
