Police Rule Frederick Woman's Death A Homicide, ID Her Body

FREDERICK, Md. (AP) -- The death of a Frederick woman who was found in her condominium home has been ruled a homicide.

The Frederick News-Post reports 52-year-old Gloria Watson was found dead inside her home on Wednesday afternoon. Police confirmed Thursday that they believe Watson was killed.

Frederick Police Department spokesman Lt. Clark Pennington says her death is believed to be the result of an assault that occurred within the residence.

The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner was scheduled to perform an autopsy on Watson's body on Thursday to determine the cause and manner of death.

Pennington says he cannot discuss whether police have recovered a weapon at the crime scene.

He also declined to say whether investigators believe the killing was a random act or not.
