Soldier In Custody After Barricade Situation On Md. National Guard Property

BALTIMORE (WJZ) --A soldier who barricaded himself on the property of the Maryland National Guard is now in custody.

Baltimore County police responded around 11:00 a.m. to an active barricade situation on the property of the Maryland National Guard located in the 10900 block of Notchcliff Road in Glen Arm.

Authorities say an unarmed man barricaded himself in the building near the Armory of the National Guard property.

"The alarm went off in the building that houses the armory and the Army personnel saw a male subject inside that building and they called for us," said Elisa Armacost, a spokesperson for the Baltimore County Police Department. "This man does not have access to the National Guard Armory, that is a secure vault, that's protected by a code" officials said. "He does not have that code."

Police fire and scores of law enforcement surrounded the area as negotiators worked to resolve the situation.
