Police Renew Request For Info In Marine's Hit-And-Run Death

THURMONT, Md. (WJZ) -- Authorities are renewing their request for information about the hit-and-run death of a U.S. Marine who worked at Camp David.

Maryland State Police released photographs Wednesday of Cpl. William Kyle Ferrell's damaged pickup truck. Metro Crime Stoppers of Maryland made the Sept. 29 incident their "Crime of the Week."

Crime Stoppers is offering a $2,000 reward for information leading to an arrest and indictment of the truck driver who hit Ferrell as he helped a disabled motorist along northbound U.S. 15 near Thurmont. Police say the truck may have been pulling a car trailer.

The Marine Corps says a memorial service is scheduled Thursday morning. No other details were available.

Ferrell's family has established a GoFundMe.com account to benefit the fire department in his hometown of Carthage, North Carolina.
