Police: Md. Man Stole More Than $20K In JC Penney's Merchandise

FEDERALSBURG,Md. (WJZ)—A Maryland man has been arrested after police say he stole more than $20,000 in JC Penney's merchandise.

Maryland State Police say they arrested 44-year-old Robert Francis Palmer, of Dorchester County, when they found a large amount of stolen goods inside his residence.

Investigators say they executed a search and seizure warrant at Palmer's residence which resulted in numerous items belonging to JC Penney, including clothing, shoes, kitchen appliances, and a tag sensor remover. JC Penny investigators say the value was in excess of $20,000.

Further investigation revealed that the items were being removed from JC Penny's trailers being hauled since June of 2014.

Palmer was arrested without incident, and charged with theft, theft scheme, and burglary.
