Police: Man Shot, Killed After Argument At Damascus Home

DAMASCUS, Md. (AP) -- Montgomery County police say they have charged a Damascus man in the fatal shooting of man at his home.

Police said in a news release that paramedics and officers were called to a home on Ridge Road around 12:30 a.m. Monday for a report of a shooting and found a man with a gunshot wound to the torso.

Police say 40-year-old Mario Alberto Perez died at the scene.

Police say Francisco Trujillo was arrested and charged with first-degree murder in Perez' death. He's being held without bond.

Police say their preliminary investigation found that Trujillo had invited Perez, an acquaintance, to his home and shot him after they argued, but the circumstances surrounding the argument are still under investigation.
