Police: Man Robbing Grocery Suffers Fatal Heart Attack

EDGEWOOD, Md. (AP) -- The Harford County Sheriff's Office says a man suffered a fatal heart attack as he was robbing a grocery in Edgewood.

Deputies were called to Aldi about 8:50 p.m. Monday for a reported armed robbery. Police found a man lying face down on the floor inside the supermarket; witnesses said he had tried to rob the store at gunpoint.

Authorities say deputies found a handgun under the man's body. Law enforcers began CPR and twice used an automated external defibrillator.

Paramedics took the man to Upper Chesapeake Medical Center in Bel Air, where he was later pronounced dead.

Deputies identified the man as 52-year-old Wayne Clark of Edgewood.
