Police: Man Jumped From Crane With Parachute Near White Marsh Mall

BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- A man was injured after jumping from a 160-foot crane wearing a parachute and a helmet with two GoPro cameras in White Marsh Monday night, according to Baltimore County Police.

Officers were called to the scene, the 8200 block of town Center Drive, shortly after 8 p.m.

They say the 33-year-old, who worked for the construction company, landed on a steel box and was injured after the parachute did not fully deploy.

The man, identified as David Matthew Mazik, of King City, Oregon, was taken to Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center for treatment. His current condition is unknown.

Video that a witness to the aftermath of the jump sent to WJZ shows the man was awake and talking to officers when they arrived.
