Police: Man Charged In West Ocean City Hit-And-Run

WEST OCEAN CITY, Md. (AP) -- Maryland State Police say they've charged an Ocean City man in a hit-and-run involving a pedestrian.

Troopers were called to Keyser Point Road in West Ocean City on Monday night and found a woman had been struck by a vehicle.

A Worcester County sheriff's deputy stopped a red Chevrolet Tahoe with mirror damage and police say it was identified as the SUV involved in the crash.

Police say the driver, 64-year-old Salah Ramadan, knew he hit something, but didn't know it was a person. He has been charged with failing to return and remain at the scene of a collision involving bodily injury.

Police say a 49-year-old Ocean City woman was taken to Peninsula Regional Medical Center, but details of her injuries were not available.
