Police: Man Arrested After Shooting At Girlfriend In Monkton

BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- A man is in custody after firing shots at his girlfriend early Wednesday morning in Monkton, police say.

He had been on the loose since the incident occurred, around 5:11 a.m. Wednesday.

Officers responded to the 16900 block of York Road at that time for an urgent welfare check.

They learned that the woman had minor injuries, but was not shot, and that the suspect fled the scene.

Burglaries at the nearby Mount Carmel Animal Hospital and a Nationwide Insurance may be connected to the incident.

York Road was shut down between Mount Carmel Road and Everett Road while police searched the suspect, but has since been reopened.

Police say the 33-year-old will not be identified by name until he is officially charged.
