Police Investigating Off-Campus Rape Near UMd. College Park

COLLEGE PARK, Md. (WJZ)—Authorities are searching for a suspect they say rape a woman in her off-campus apartment near University of Maryland College Park.

It happened just before 6:00 a.m. Saturday when the female victim told police she was rape by an unknown man.

The victim says as she was being sexually penetrated and thought it was her boyfriend.

She says after she called his name and reached for his hair she realized it was an unknown man.

After making a noise the victim says the man got out of the bed and left the apartment.

Police say the apartment was left unlocked at the time of the incident.

The suspect is only described as wearing a dark hoodie and pants.
