Police Investigating Homicide In Silver Spring

SILVER SPRING, Md. (AP) -- Police in Montgomery County are investigating the death of a man in Silver Spring as a homicide.

Montgomery County Police say emergency responders were called Sunday at about 9:15 p.m. to the intersection of Veirs Mill and Randolph roads. Police say the 911 caller reported an unresponsive male in the service lane of the road.

Police say when emergency responders arrived they found a Hispanic male in his early twenties suffering from life-threatening injuries. Police did not say what those injuries were but said the man was taken to a hospital where he died.

Police say it appears a road construction crew made the 911 call. Police did not identify the victim and said suspects in the case reportedly fled. Police say an autopsy is planned.
