1 Dead, 1 Injured In Motorcycle Crash In Howard County

COLUMBIA, Md. (AP) -- Police are investigating after one person died and one person was seriously injured in a motorcycle crash in Howard County.

Howard County police say the crash happened Saturday around 5:30 a.m. when the driver of a motorcycle traveling southbound on Route 29 near Rivers Edge Road went off the roadway and struck the guardrail in the center median.

Police say the 27-year-old driver of the motorcycle was pronounced dead at the scene and a 23-year-old female passenger was taken to the hospital in serious condition.

Police say a preliminary investigation revealed that the motorcycle was speeding at the time of the crash.
