Police Identify Couple In Gas Station Murder-Suicide

GERMANTOWN, Md. (AP) -- Montgomery County Police have released the identities of a woman who was fatally shot by a man who then killed himself.

The shooting occurred shortly after 12:20 p.m. Tuesday at a gas station in Germantown. Police say 42-year-old Johnnie Perkins and 34-year-old Shakina Perkins-Moody arrived in a car at the gas station with Perkins-Moody's teenager daughter.

Investigators say when the daughter went inside to pay for gasoline, and Perkins and Perkins-Moody got into an argument. Authorities say Perkins shot Perkins-Moody and shot himself when an off-duty police officer approached the car.

Police say the two lived together, but officers do not know their marital status.
