Police ID Worker Crushed At Sparrows Point Plant

BALTIMORE, Md. (WJZ) -- Authorities have identified the employee killed in an industrial accident Wednesday at a metals processing plant in Sparrows Point.

Colin Richard Kelley, 19, of Dundalk, was working with a machine that rolls steel at Maryland Metals Processing when he got tangled in a steel coil, which pulled him into the machine where he was crushed, according to Baltimore County Police.

Paramedics called to the plant, located in the 4400 block of North Point Boulevard, pronounced Kelley dead at the scene.

No foul play is suspected, according to police, but the Maryland Occupational Safety and Health Administration is looking into the accident.

Kelley had been working at the plant for a month.
