Police ID Victim of Fatal Shooting in Southwest Baltimore

BALTIMORE, Md. (WJZ) -- Authorities on Monday identified the victim of a deadly shooting in Southwest Baltimore over the weekend.

Police found Dontay Renard Hughes, 39, of East Preston Street, shot in the chest in the 2200 block of Poplar Grove Street just after 4 p.m. Sunday afternoon, according to police.

Paramedics rushed Hughes to the hospital where he died of his injuries, police said.

Homicide detectives suspect Hughes was shot somewhere else and then ran to the location where they found him, according to police.
