Police ID Suspect In Attempted Robbery Outside Frederick Douglass HS

BALTIMORE (WJZ)—Baltimore Police have identified a suspect they say was involved in shooting and attempted robbery near a West Baltimore high school earlier this month.

Back on June 3, police say Kyree Green attempted to rob a 17-year-old student just outside Frederick Douglass High School.

The victim fought back and was able to get away.

"During this struggle, with the suspect's gun, the suspect fired the gun and struck himself. So this appears to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound that the suspect caused on his own, and the suspect fled the scene," said T.J. Smith, Baltimore Police Department.

Police say the would-be-victim was going to Douglass to pick up his cap and gown for graduation.

Anyone with any information on the whereabouts of Green is asked to call police immediately at 410-396-2221 or Metro Crime Stoppers at 1-866-7LOCKUP.
