Police ID 23-Year-Old Killed In Brandywine Crash

BRANDYWINE, Md. (AP) -- Prince George's County police are identifying a 23-year-old killed in a single-car accident in Brandywine in which the driver fled from the scene.

Police on Saturday identified the man who died as Brendan Munnerlyn of Waldorf.

Police say Munnerlyn was a passenger in a car that crashed around 10:45 p.m. Thursday on McKendree Road. Police say the driver ran off the road and crashed into a utility pole. Munnerlyn was thrown from the vehicle and died at the scene. A second passenger was injured and taken to a hospital for treatment.

Police say speed appears to have been a factor in the accident and that the driver was seen running from the car after the crash. Police are still searching for him.
