Police: Group of 8 Pistol-Whip, Rob Man at Gunpoint at Laurel Motel

BALTIMORE, Md. (WJZ) -- An Anne Arundel County man was pistol-whipped and robbed at gunpoint early Friday morning at the Knights Inn in Laurel, authorities said.

At some point before 5:20 a.m., according to police, a group of eight suspects confronted the victim outside the motel and one of them brandished a handgun.

The victim reported being struck in the head with the firearm before the group stole his cash and other items. Police said the victim was hospitalized with a head injury, but was expected to recover.

So far, no suspects have been located.

It's not the first time the motel, located in the 3300 block of Fort Meade Road, has made headlines recently. Dalan Plummer, 19, of Landover Hills, died after being found shot at the location June 25.
