At about 11:12 p.m., officers found Kaley Marie Smith, 21, deceased in her vehicle in the woods on Defense Highway near Huntwood Drive.

Police say the Ford was traveling eastbound on Defense Highway approaching Huntwood Drive when it left the roadway to the right for an unknown reason and rolled into a tree. The roof of the car struck the tree.

Smith was declared dead at the scene.

Officers say there were no witnesses and rain may be a contributing factor to the crash.

Detectives do not know if alcohol or drugs played a factor in the accident but Smith was wearing her seat-belt.

Anyone who witnessed the crash or may have any information is asked to call 410-222-8573.
