Police: Driver Fled Crash That Killed Passenger In Prince Georges County

BRANDYWINE, Md. (AP) -- Prince George's County police say a driver fled on foot from the scene of a single-car accident that killed one of his passengers.

The crash occurred around 10:45 p.m. Thursday on McKendree Road in Brandywine. Police say the driver ran off the road and crashed into a utility pole. The front seat passenger was thrown from the vehicle and died at the scene.

A rear seat passenger was injured and taken to a hospital for treatment. Police say the driver was seen running from the car after the crash. Police are still searching for him.

The victim's name will be released after relatives are notified.
