Police: Daughter Charged With Killing 94-Year-Old Mother

HYATTSVILLE, Md. (AP) -- Prince George's County police say they have arrested and charged the daughter of a 94-year-old woman who was found stabbed to death in the Hyattsville area with her murder.

Police say they have arrested 60-year-old Michelle Miriam Davis and charged her with first- and second-degree murder. Davis is accused of stabbing her mother, Margaret Ellen Wells, to death.

Police were called to a home on the 6400 block of Knollbrook Drive in Chillum around 11:30 a.m. on Saturday. When officers arrived they found Wells suffering from stab wounds. Police say Wells was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police say they believe Wells and her daughter had an argument prior to the stabbing.
