Transit Agency: D.C. Train Passenger Shot; 2 Teens Arrested

WASHINGTON (AP) -- The transit agency in the nation's capital says a man was shot on a commuter train, and two teenagers have been arrested.

Metro spokeswoman Sherri Ly said the 24-year-old male victim was in stable condition and able to talk to detectives after the Tuesday afternoon shooting. She had no information on a motive, but said it was not terrorism. Nobody else was injured.

Ly said Metro Transit Police were seeking two other "persons of interest."

The shooting occurred on a Green Line train as it approached the Anacostia Metro station. Ly said photos pulled from surveillance video enabled D.C. police to identify the suspects, ages 15 and 19, as they crossed the South Capitol Street Bridge near the Anacostia station. She said detectives identified the 15-year-old as the shooter.
