Police: Baltimore Man Murders Girlfriend Then Attempts Suicide

BALTIMORE (WJZ)-- A man has been charged with murder after police found his girlfriend dead at the scene, according to Anne Arundel County Police.

Shortly after 7 p.m., officers responded to the 400 block of Glen Mar Road in Glen Burnie where they found Da'von Markell Mullins suffering from upper body trauma and his girlfriend, Kayla Yow dead from upper body trauma. There was a handgun recovered at the scene.

Mullins was taken to an area hospital where he remains in critical condition.

Anne Arundel Police received a 911 call from family members of Mullins saying they received several concerning text messages and were worried about the welfare of Mullins.

Investigators say the incident is an apparent homicide-attempted suicide.

Homicide detectives have obtained an arrest warrant for Mullins charging him with murder and related charges.  Mullins is currently under police guard at an area hospital.
