Police: Ax-Wielding Man Attempted to Break Into Baltimore ATM

BALTIMORE (WJZ)—Baltimore Police have arrested an ax-wielding man who attempted to break into an ATM machine on Tuesday morning.

It happened around 2:30 a.m. in the 5400 block of Reisterstown Road where officers found Keenen Matthews, 20, attempting to break into an ATM machine.

Police say officers observed damage to the ATM machine and damage to a camera hanging over the machine.

Matthews was not able to take any money from the ATM machine, police say.

Matthews was transported to the Central Booking and Intake Facility. He is charged with attempted larceny and destruction of property.
