Police: Alleged Armed Man Demands Money From Odenton Inn Owner

ODENTON, Md. (WJZ) --Police have arrested a 52-year-old man after he allegedly tried to rob an Odenton inn.

Officers responded to a report of an armed robbery at the Royal Inn, located at the 1600 block of Annapolis Road, on June 19 at 7:08 p.m.

The 65-year-old male victim reported an unknown man threw a rock at his hotel window, shattering the glass and then climbed through the window. Once inside, the man demanded money from the victim, and held up a knife when he hesitated.

Police located a man matching the suspect's description near Richfield Drive in Severn. The search of the man revealed two knives and an undisclosed amount of money.

Police charged Robert A. Jones with armed robbery, robbery, first- and second-degree assault, first- and third-degree burglary, reckless endangerment and destruction of property.

The victim suffered minor injuries from the robbery.
