Suspect Dead After Deputy-Involved Shooting In Harford Co.

BEL AIR, Md. (WJZ) -- The Harford County Sheriff's Office is involved in the fatal shooting of a 35-year-old man in Bel Air.

Investigators say sheriff's deputies were called to Althea Court near the Festival shopping center when they encountered a suicidal man.

After several attempts to have the man peacefully surrender, the sheriff's office says the man exited his home in the direction of deputies.

Investigators say deputies were in fear for their personal safety. They opened fire, killing him.

No one else was injured.
