Police: 3 Hospitalized, 1 Arrested In Overnight Shootings

BALTIMORE, Md. (WJZ) -- Three men were hospitalized and another man was arrested after a series of shootings unfolded across Baltimore overnight, authorities said Wednesday.

Officers called to a shooting in West Baltimore about 10:45 p.m. found a 22-year-old man who had been shot in the leg in the 400 block of South Smallwood Street and another man armed at the scene, according to police.

Police say the suspect, identified as Allan Johnson, 59, of Smallwood Street, dropped his weapon at officers' command and was taken into custody.  He's charged with attempted murder.

The shooting victim was taken to the hospital where he's expected to survive.

Three hours later, officers were dispatched to a separate shooting in the 6000 block of Henderson Avenue where they located a 55-year-old man with multiple gunshot wounds, according to police. Paramedics rushed him to a hospital to undergo surgery. At last check, the victim's condition was not clear.

In a separate case, an officer on patrol overheard gunfire near the 800 block of West Lexington Street about 10 p.m. Minutes later, he tracked down a man in the 800 block of Vine Street who had been shot in the leg. That man was taken to the hospital for treatment.
