PHOTOS: Phelps Now Married To Girlfriend Nicole Johnson

PARADISE VALLEY, Ariz. (WJZ/AP) — New photos have been released from Michael Phelps on social media of his marriage to his girlfriend of 9 years, former Miss California Nicole Johnson.

This follows recent reports that the couple was married back in June in Arizona. New photos released by the couple on Instagram show a beautiful seaside wedding, with Johnson wearing a designer gown and Phelps in a grey suit. US Weekly reports that the couple celebrated their marriage with a second wedding among family and friends in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico.

The Arizona Republic reports the 31-year-old swimmer officially wedded Nicole Johnson on June 13, two months before the Olympic great completed his last gold-medal haul. That's a little more than a month after the former Miss California USA gave birth to their son, Boomer.

The newspaper has posted a copy of a marriage license that shows Phelps and Johnson were married in Paradise Valley, Arizona. Neither Phelps nor Johnson said anything about the wedding. Johnson posted a picture of her with Phelps and Boomer on Instagram on the day of the ceremony back in June with the caption, "Such a memorable night with my lil fambam."

Phelps admitted the marriage, acknowledging the lack of publicity in a Facebook live video on October 27, seen golfing with former Raven and NFL star Ray Lewis."I've been married for a while. A couple months. I had to keep it a secret from y'all. I had to keep it hush-hush from you guys."

Baltimore-native Michael Phelps won five gold medals at the Rio de Janeiro Games, his last coming Aug. 13 to increase his overall gold total to 23. He is the most decorated Olympian with 28 medals.
