Phil Wrye, assistant general manager of the Bowie Baysox, joins Scott Garceau and Jeremy Conn to talk about the Baysox playoff run, as well as his team adjusting to the Orioles' roster moves.

Wrye, who's been with the organization for 16 years, is responsible for everything from promotional events to roster moves with the Orioles. Lately, his Baysox have been on a scoring tear and in post season contention.

"We're in contention for the playoffs, five games out, and we've been playing some good ball lately," said Wrye.
"Last night, we pounded out 22 hits, so the offense is there and it keeps getting better. Although, we'll have some roster moves soon, so we have to keep track of that."

The Baysox' major league affiliate has been on a tear lately as well. With the Orioles in control of the AL East lead, they'll likely be making roster adjustments as the postseason gets closer. Wrye said the Baysox all take notice.

"There's buzz around here, and the players are always watching. Whenever the Orioles play an afternoon game, we turn that on," Wrye said. "In fact, we saw a play where one of the Orioles' outfielders got hurt, and the outfielders here starting buzzing about who'd be moving. It's interesting."
Wrye also mentioned how affordable it is for a family to attend a Baysox game in Bowie.

"A family with two kids--you're probably in the ballpark with some good seats and tickets for about $60. Our parking is always free out here, the lot is right outside the main gate, and there's not a bad seat in the house."
