Person Shot After Police Chase From Maryland To D.C.

WASHINGTON (AP) -- Police in Washington say a person has been shot after officers from Maryland chased a fleeing car into the District.

D.C. Officer Hugh Carew says Prince George's County Police chased a car from Maryland into the southeast part of the city Monday night. Carew says a person bailed from the car and shots were fired.

The person was taken to a hospital with what appear to be life-threatening injuries, Carew says.

A D.C. police spokesman tells The Washington Post that no officers were injured, and it was not clear whether the shots were fired by Washington or Prince George's County police officers.
