Pedestrian Fatally Struck By Amtrak Train Near Baltimore

ROSEDALE, Md. (WJZ) -- A fatal train collision involving a pedestrian disrupts service on the Northeast Corridor.

Officials say the victim was trespassing when they were struck and killed by Amtrak train 148.

It happened around 4 p.m. at Philadelphia and Patapsco avenues in Rosedale, Baltimore County, which is about six miles north of Baltimore Penn Station .

The northeast regional train was traveling from Washington, D.C. to New Haven, Connecticut.

Nearly 400 passengers were on board at the time. No one was injured.

Those passengers are now being transferred to another Amtrak train.

Service has been temporarily suspended between Baltimore and Wilmington, Delaware.

Customers should expect delays Friday evening.
