Passenger Killed, Driver Hurt In Frederick Car Crash

FREDERICK, Md. (AP) -- Maryland State Police say a passenger was killed and the driver was injured when a car went down and embankment in Frederick.

It happened shortly before 4 a.m. Wednesday on U.S 340. Troopers said in a news release that  29-year-old Justin Thomas Rodgers of Frederick was driving east when the car drove across the median, down and embankment and into a wooded area.

Police say a passenger in the car, 25-year-old Lauryn Ashlee Miller of Frederick, was pronounced dead at the scene. Rodgers was taken to Meritus Hospital in Hagerstown.

The crash is under investigation.
