Pasadena Man Found Guilty Of Second Degree Murder
ANNAPOLIS, MD - A Pasadena man faces up to 30 years in prison after being found guilty of Second Degree Murder.
An Anne Arundel County jury found 28-year old Joseph Soule guilty in connection to a murder back in May of 2014.
On May 12, Police found the body of Christie Pelland at the Medical Arts Building in Glen Burnie, where she worked as an overnight cleaner. Officials say she had been stabbed 66 times and cut an additional 20 times.
Prosecutors say in the week's prior to her death, Pelland had supplied drugs to Soule in exchange for access to his car.
Police were able to recover bloody shoe prints near the victim's body that were consistent with a pair of Nike Air Visi Pro IV shoes that Soule was observed shoplifting the day of the murder. The next day, surveillance video captured Soule at a Glen Burnie mall without shoes on and buying a new pair of shoes.
DNA test also determined that Pelland's blood was found in Soule's vehicle on the interior of the driver's door.
Soule's sentencing hearing has not yet been scheduled.
