I-83 Reopened After Fatal Crash Shuts Down Highway

BALTIMORE (WJZ) — Police temporarily shut down parts of I-83 after a fatal accident Tuesday morning at the E. 28th Street exit.

Officials say they got a call just after 10:30 a.m. for a multi-vehicle accident with a vehicle fire.

Baltimore Fire reports one person has died and another went to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The roadway was shut down from the Coldspring exit, and Baltimore police had asked drivers to choose a different route.

People were seen trying to assist in getting someone, presumably the driver, out of the car.
