Parents of Missing 3-Month-Old In Md. Charged In His Death

GREENBELT, Md. (AP) — Police say the parents of an infant boy who was last seen last month have been charged in connection with the child's death.

Prince George's County police say both 32-year-old Antoine Petty and 24-year-old Geneice Petty, of the 8500 block of Greenbelt Road in Greenbelt, were arrested Wednesday. Antoine Petty faces murder and other related charges. Geneice Petty has been charged with accessory after the fact.

A relative told police Geneice Petty and her 3-month-old son were last seen Sept. 22 in Lanham, but were just reported missing Monday. Detectives found the couple Tuesday, and say Antoine Petty admitted assaulting his son, resulting in the boy's death.

Police say both parents admitted to burying the baby to hide the crime and led police to a shallow grave in Riverdale.

It's unclear if either parent has an attorney.
