Owner Injured In Pappas Seafood Restaurant Robbery

BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- Baltimore County police are investigating after Pappas Seafood Restaurant was robbed Saturday. The owner of the restaurant was injured during the robbery.

According to police, Markos Pappas was getting something out of his car when the suspect hit him over the head with a handgun. The suspect grabbed a bag containing money and fled. Pappas was able to run into the restaurant.

An officer saw the suspect on West Northern Parkway and followed the car until it hit a parked car near Greenmount Avenue. Baltimore City and County officers, as well as the county police helicopter, tracked the suspect down and arrested him on Greenmount Avenue.

The suspect was identified as Darrell Burns. Burns has been charged with armed robbery, first-degree assault, being a convicted felon in possession of a handgun, use of a firearm in a crime of violence and illegal possession of a regulated firearm. Burns is being held without bail at the Baltimore County Detention Center.

Pappas was taken to Sinai Hospital, where he has been treated for his injuries.
