Over $20K Raised For U.S. Marine Beaten In DC

WASHINGTON (WJZ)—Over $20,000 has been raised on a GoFundMe page for a U.S. Marine brutally beaten outside of a McDonald's in Washington, D.C.

The incident happened in the 900 block of E. Street, NW, around 9:40 p.m. on February 12th.

According to WUSA9, bronze star recipient Christopher Marquez, who served in the Marine Corps from 2003-2011, told police he was assaulted while eating at McDonald's.

Authorities say they are asking for the public's help in locating three persons of interest in connection to the attack.

Marquez believes the attack was racially motivated.
