Orioles, White Sox Will Play Wednesday Closed To The Public

The Baltimore Orioles and MLB, along side city and local officials, have figured out what to do about the postponed games against the Chicago White Sox. Due to the civil unrest and riots in Baltimore City it was determined that it was unsafe to play on Monday and Tuesday.

Monday and Tuesday's games will be made up in a single-admission doubleheader on May 28th in Baltimore starting at 4:05 p.m. ET. The Orioles will be on a homestand from May 25 through May 31, playing 3 games against the Houston Astros (May 25-27) and the Tampa Bay Rays (May 29-31). The double header takes place between the two three-game series.

Wednesday, the Orioles will face the Chicago White Sox but the time has been changes to 2:05 p.m. ET and, in an unprecedented move by the Orioles and MLB, the game will not be open to the public. The game can still be heard on 105.7 The Fan and the Orioles radio network.

The 3-game weekend series against the Tampa Bay Rays (May 1-3) will be played at Tropicana Field in Tampa, Fl. instead of in Baltimore as it was originally scheduled. The Orioles will serve as the home team in the series in Tampa.

The Orioles also tweeted out some direction concerning tickets from the game for both series. "Tickets for Monday's postponed game will be valid for the doubleheader on May 28. Fans unable to attend the doubleheader will have an opportunity to exchange their tickets for any remaining home game this season. Fans with tickets for Tuesday's postponed game must exchange to attend the doubleheader on May 28 or exchange for any remaining home game. Exchanges for both games will be completed on a "dollar for dollar" basis. All tickets are subject to availability, and exchanges must be completed by June 30, 2015. Complimentary tickets are non-exchangeable."
