Orioles Trey Mancini Hits Home Run In Major League Debut

BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- In his Major League debut with the Baltimore Orioles, Trey Mancini hits a home run that finally put the Orioles on the board against the Boston Red Sox.

Mancini began the 2015 season in Frederick, and was promoted during the season to the Bowie Baysox of the Class AA Eastern League. After spending some time in Baltimore during spring training Mancini returned to Bowie to start the 2016 season.

The Orioles selected Mancini in the eighth round of the 2013 MLB draft.

Mancini was promoted to the Major Leagues on September 18, 2016 after Steve Pearce was placed on the disabled list.

Trey Mancini told the Baltimore Sun, "It's a dream come true, it's the reason I've been playing baseball since I was 4 years old, was to one day make the Major Leagues...I'm just trying to take it all in right now."
