Orioles Trade Clevenger For Trumbo, Riefenhauser

BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- The Orioles add some power to the lineup, trading for outfielder-first baseman Mark Trumbo.

The O's have acquired Trumbo and LHP C.J. Riefenhauser from Seattle in exchange for catcher Steve Clevenger.

To make room on the 40-man roster, RHP Steve Johnson has been designated for assignment.

Trumbo, 29, batted .262/.310/.449 with 22 home runs and 64 RBI in 142 games between the Mariners (96 games) and the Arizona Diamondbacks (46 games) in 2015.

Riefenhauser, 25, went 4-2 with a 2.86 ERA (11 ER/34.2 IP) and 34 strikeouts over 29 games with Triple-A Durham in 2015.
