Orioles RHP Gonzalez Goes On DL; RHP Wright Recalled

BALTIMORE (AP) -- Orioles right-hander Miguel Gonzalez has been placed on the 15-day disabled list with a right groin strain.

The injury occurred during Baltimore's game against the Boston Red Sox on Tuesday night.

After the move was announced Thursday, Gonzalez said, "I understand that it's the right thing to do. It's not feeling any better."

Gonzalez is 5-4 with a 3.33 ERA in 12 starts.

Baltimore recalled right-hander Mike Wright to fill out the roster, which is now at 24 players because lefty Brian Matusz is serving an eight-game suspension for using a foreign substance while on the mound.

Wright will be in the bullpen for the next few days. If he is not used, Wright probably will fill in for Gonzalez as Baltimore's starter Sunday against the New York Yankees.
