Orioles Keep Gausman In Rotation, Move Norris To Bullpen
CHICAGO (AP) -- Right-hander Kevin Gausman will remain in the Baltimore Orioles rotation and start Tuesday against the Minnesota Twins, while Bud Norris will move from the rotation to the bullpen.
The Orioles recalled Gausman on Thursday from Triple-A Norfolk. He struck out seven in 6 1/3 scoreless innings against the Texas Rangers on Thursday. He is 1-0 with a 3.09 ERA in 10 appearances, including two starts.
Orioles manager Buck Showalter says they're "trying to run our best five starters out there right now, and I think Kevin is one of them."
Norris is 2-7 with a 6.79 ERA in 11 starts. He allowed five runs in six innings in his last start Monday against the Rangers. Showalter says Norris has been dealing with an illness, but was doing better Saturday.
