Orioles Insider Steve Melewski Talks Chris Davis
Steve Melewski had quite a busy weekend at Orioles FanFest with the team's management and many of their players.
Steve took (and asked) many questions about the topic of the month: Chris Davis and the status of his contract.
There were many comments on Davis' courting, from players like Adam Jones and members of the front office like Brady Anderson and Dan Duquette. Steve gives us his take on the situation, saying that the front office has done just about everything they can and that O's fans attitude, which is normally hostile towards the front office, has shifted but there is still some anxiety towards seeing Chris in black and orange next season.
Steve also addresses the rumors of the offer being pulled "off the table". When asked about the total value of the contract offer, Steve tells the guys that maybe… just maybe, that $150 million might be better spent on a couple players instead of funneling it all to Davis.
